The Eclipse in Wisconsin

We were near Dubuque, Iowa for the eclipse. We had hoped that the weather would be clear enough for us to justify driving 400 miles one way to see the total eclipse somewhere southwest of St. Louis. But the forecast was for considerable cloudiness and the drive just didn't feel justified.  We have been to two other total eclipses and were shut out with clouds.  We got to experience everything but seeing the total eclipse and, frankly, it was disappointing.

So we decided to stay put and see most of the eclipse.  In Keiler, WI we had 88% coverage.  That was good and we were comfortable at our campsite. I experimented using my new camera with the sun filter.  It worked pretty well. The pictures are in time sequence so you can see the progress of the eclipse.

We are moving north seeing the sights and edging closer to the Minnesota State Fair, our next big item on the bucket list.

Unlike the leadership of this country, Russ knows to protect his eyes.

This is the closest I got to the maximum coverage.
